Hartgrove Hospital Lynda Pettigrew

Lynda Pettigrew PMHNP-BC, APN, RN

Lynda Pettigrew joined the Hartgrove Hospital team in 2013, bringing 12 years of inpatient child/adolescent psychiatry experience. She studied at Maynooth University in Ireland and Saint Mary’s of Notre Dame in Indiana, earning a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a BS in nursing from Marian University and a master’s in nursing from Chicago’s Rush University.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Pettigrew worked in a medical/surgical ICU after graduation. While she gained a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding complex disease processes, what she enjoyed most was the psychosocial aspect of treatment. She found a new way to connect with patients and their families in the field of behavioral health.

Pettigrew says she feels passionate about the work she does because there is such an immense need for services within this community and there is a significant and positive impact on overall functioning because of the assistance and care she is able to provide. She enjoys meeting the patients and hearing their stories, but her favorite part of the job is getting to see someone who was once depressed or suicidal leave the hospital with a renewed sense of hope.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking and reading. She also recently started taking a salsa dance class and has a four-year-old rescue dog named Reagan.
